Tasting notes
Score 87/100 · Drink 2017-2020, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2017

Cogno's 2014 Barbera d'Alba Bricco dei Merli shows the linear, tightly wound personality of the year in its mid-weight structure. Dark cherry, tobacco, smoke and earthy notes all make an appearance, but the 2014 remains penalized by the challenges of the growing season. Overall, the 2014 lacks mid-palate depth and persistence, while the acidity is bracing, even within the context of the vintage.

Lots of lively fruit such as blueberries and pomegranate. Medium to full body, lovely fruit and a clean finish. Drink now.
