Tasting notes
With the firm's holdings being in the southern portion of the appellation near Maison Rouge in Tupin-Semons, it is no surprise that the 2018 Cote Rotie Les Pierrelles (Domaine) is a fine, elegant expression of the appellation. Scents of crushed stone and olive give way to red berries on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is concentrated but silky, with hints of cranberry and cedar creeping in on the long finish.

Another beautiful 2018 from Côte Rôtie, the 2018 Côte Rôtie Les Pierrelles sports a deep, opaque ruby hue to go with spicy, perfumed notes of candied flowers, peppery spice, cured meats, incense, and both red and blue fruits. With a touch of chocolaty minerality emerging with time in the glass, it's medium to full-bodied, balanced, and monolithic. Give bottles 2-4 years to develop additional complexity and enjoy over the following decade.
Deep, shimmering violet. Expansive, mineral- and spice-accented black and blue fruit aromas show excellent clarity and pick up a suave floral note with air. Shows impressive depth as well as energy to the sweet black raspberry, boysenberry and candied violet flavors, which turn spicier on the back half. The floral and mineral notes drive a very long, juicy finish framed by smooth, even tannins.
