Score 92/100 · Neal Martin, Oct 2019

The 1988 Boal, bottled in 2018, has quite an elegant, floral bouquet of honeyed biscuit, linseed, ginger and saffron notes, opening nicely with aeration to reveal a touch of dried orange peel. The palate is finely balanced and displays good acidity. This Boal is discreetly spiced with hints of toffee apple and Seville orange marmalade on the viscous, persistent finish. Excellent.
