Previously called “Pinot Noir Hopewell Hills Gathered Stones,” the 2019 Pinot Noir Gathered Stones is the same wine, but the winery removed the longer name to distinguish it from the Hopewell Hills. Savory and resinous, the 2019 Pinot Noir Gathered Stones is spicy with toasted black pepper, savory forest herbs, and black cherry liqueur. Medium to full-bodied, it has balanced intensity, with ripe structure, an even spine of acidity, and a core of red fruit shining through its long finish. It offers wonderful purity and should prove to be a solid, age-worthy wine from Rose & Arrow. I tasted this last year, and it’s showing even better now. Drink 2024-2040. 137 cases produced.

Pale ruby in colour. The fruit on the nose is abundant with the gentlest touch of reduction and charcuterie meatiness. Ripe and fleshy with black cherry and a balsam-wood perfume. Very structured. The tannin is sticky and tactile and the acid is elevated. Long, complete and ageworthy. (SCJ)

The 2019 Pinot Noir Hopewell Hills Gathered Stones is ripe with fresh pine, kirsch, blood orange, and baking spice. The palate is energetic and fresh, with notes of grenadine, crushed violets, and stony earth. It is ripe yet refreshing, with a silky mineral texture. Drink 2024-2034.

Deep, vivid ruby-red. Mineral-accented red and blue fruit, floral and spice scents are complemented by suggestions of candied lavender, cocoa powder, cola and poached rhubarb. Coats the palate with sappy boysenberry, cherry-vanilla, mocha and floral pastille flavors that are braced by a core of juicy acidity. There's a suave blend of richness and energy here. Finishes extremely long and smooth, with resonating blue fruit and floral notes and subtle tannins making a late appearance.
