Tasting notes
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles 1er Cru has a leaner nose, more transparent and mineral than its peers, perhaps the more terroir-driven of the four wines tasted blind from this climat. The palate is well balanced with orange rind and citrus fruit on the entry. Very good weight, quite intense with a very harmonious and persistent finish. This is a classy Caillerets. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles 1er Cru comes from three parcels at different altitudes that abut Montrachet next door, currently undergoing partial replanting. It has a delightful bouquet of lightly honeyed fruit infused with hints of menthol. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, veins of white chocolate and almond complementing the citrus fruit. Fans out on the finish with subtle notes of white peach. I can see this being difficult to resist in its youth.
