Tasting notes
Healthy dark red. Aromas of blackberry, licorice and menthol. Surprisingly supple on entry after the slightly medicinal nose, conveying a clear sweetness to the flavors of griotte cherry and licorice. Then tightens up toward the end, finishing with serious tannins that are nicely buffered by minerality. The wine's calcaire energy enlivens and extends the finish.

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes has quite a rich bouquet with a subtle Oriental influence, just a tang of hoisin that complements that dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a potent salinity on the entry that seems to electrify the olfactory senses. There is wonderful structure here, great depth of fruit with a gentle grip on the finish. What a superb Les Baudes from Ghislaine Barthod this year, but it will certainly benefit from cellaring for several years.
