The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Tremblots, which suffered only 10% frost damage, offers shucked oyster shell on the nose. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity, maybe just missing its usual tension and nerve, though there is satisfying length with a sour lemon twist on the finish.

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Tremblots was spared by the frosts on the one hand and incorporates young vine fruit from Lamy's high-density plantings on the other. Perhaps that explains why it's so good, wafting from the glass with notes of peach, pear, orange zest, gunflint and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with a pure core of fruit, racy acids and a saline finish, it's an overperformer in the range.
Aromatic and beautifully layered, the 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Tremblots Vieilles Vignes is complex but also understated. Moreover, it’s a terrific wine for the dinner table. What a gorgeous wine.
