Score 88-90/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

Produced from purchased fruit and vinified with one-third whole clusters, the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes (négoce) bursts with aromas of raspberries, berries, woodsmoke and sweet soil tones. It's medium to full-bodied, succulent and fine-boned, with a delicate core of fruit framed by powdery tannins.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes comes from purchased fruit from two parcels in the appellation and includes 30% whole bunch and 20% new oak. It has a confit-like bouquet that is missing a little cohesion at the moment. The fleshy palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and red cherry and strawberry fruit, but it is missing a little grip on the finish.
