Tasting notes
A fresh and decidedly earthy nose is comprised by notes of mostly red berries and a whiff of the sauvage. There is both a lovely sense of underlying tension and fine detail to the delicious middleweight flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere and slightly lean finish. It's hard to say with certainty whether the leanness is accentuated by the recent bottling so this may flesh out with a few years of cellaring. (Drink starting 2027)

Pale crimson. Sweetly perfumed with quite a dry, firm tannic frame that currently dominates the fruit. Bitter finish. (JR)
The 2021 Pommard Les Perrières has a fragrant nose with raspberry pastilles and light floral scents. Fine delineation and purity, though not complex. The palate is well balanced with sappy red fruit, moderate depth, just missing some flesh on the finish that feels a tiny bit underripe compared to other cuvées.
