The 2020 Purple Rose, a varietal Sangiovese, is actually quite red in color. Wild floral and herb tones blow off to reveal young strawberries and crushed rocks. This is silky-smooth and pliant, fleshing out across the palate, offering ripe red fruits and minerals motivated by juicy acidity. There’s so much pleasure to be found here, as an enriching note of sweet spice mingles with candied citrus through the long finale. - Eric Guido
