Score 85/100 · Drink 2022-2025, Neal Martin, Sep 2022

The 2002 La Carillon de l’Angelus, which came from vines dedicated to the Deuxième Vin and aged in 40-50% new oak, was tasted from magnum as no bottle remain. Showing moderate bricking on the rim. It has a light but agreeable, ferrous nose with commendable red fruit, allspice and clove. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, a little fatigued by time despite the larger format, though it slips down the throat with ease. More of curiosity value these days. Tasted at the château.
