The domaine owns 0.49 ha of Les Preuses. Grapes are hand-harvested, sorted and gently pressed before cold settling in stainless steel for 24 hours. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel. Aged for 18 months. The wine was racked twice before bottling at the end of autumn. Quite a bit of wood on the nose still. Very youthful and unformed. But definitely marked by wood – which I read was acacia. Ripe fruit in evidence, and the wine is still very embryonic. Lightly bitter finish. (JR)

The 2018 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru has an introverted bouquet that demands coaxing, eventually offering wet pavement, limestone and light oyster shell aromas. The palate is well balanced with an appealing oily texture. Lime, orange pith, touches of menthol and brown spices form the midpalate. Good density and spiciness come through on the finish. This is an excellent Les Preuses that will benefit from bottle age.
The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses opens in the glass with aromas of fresh peach, citrus oil and oyster shell. Medium to full-bodied, round and charming, with ripe acids and a fleshy core of fruit, it's open-knit and elegant.
