The 2014 Grand Corbin Manuel, owned by the de Gaye family (see Château Le Création in Pomerol) has a slightly herbaceous bouquet that is calling out for more red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, a little coarseness to contend with compared to its peers, although I appreciate the weight and focus on the brambly red fruit-driven finish that just fades too quickly. Early-drinking fare.

The 2014 Grand Corbin Manuel offers good up front richness, with pretty blueberry and spice notes, but then loses some persistence on the mid-palate. Overall, the 2014 is a solid, if not particularly exciting, wine.
