Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. Mid smudgy garnet. Invitingly complex aroma that still has plenty of fresh fruit as well as the start of mature leathery sweetness. Tannins are resolved but present enough to give the wine shape. Rounded but fresh. Just right now. Not trying too hard but giving lots of pleasure. (JH)

A consistently well-made cru bourgeois, the 2012 has a deep/purple ruby color, decent black and red currant fruit, spice and earth in a relatively compact finish. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

Very dark core, black at heart. Sweetly oaky nose, char and cassis. Char on the palate too and slightly hard/tough given the moderate fruit. (JH)
