Tightly focused, with flint and gunsmoke aromatics, followed by citrus and chamomile, this is lovely, with the joyful sense of pleasure and lift that gives it real personality. Plenty of juice on the finish.
The 2019 Pagodes de Cos Blanc has a straightforward, quite primal and leesy bouquet with touches of lime and grapefruit. The palate is well balanced, more a texturally satisfying Bordeaux Blanc than one that is imbued with complexity or terroir expression. Drink over the next three to six years.
There are two whites from this great estate. Starting with the 2019 Pagodes De Cos Blanc, it has a beautiful, crisp, elegant style as well as outstanding notes of white flowers, citrus, lemon blossom, and honeysuckle. It's clean and impeccably balanced, with good acidity and lots of upfront charm.
About the producer
Louis Gaspard d’Estournel inherited Cos and Pomys in 1791, founding Cos d’Estournel in 1811, investing significantly in the property and expanding the estate from 14 to 45 hectares. The estate rapidly rose to prominence and the wines were exported around the world.
