One of the finest wines from this château in recent years, the 2022 Château La Fleur Morange is a fabulous blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc brought up all in barrel. It offers cassis, spice, tobacco, and cedar pencil, all wrapped in a full-bodied, pure, and seamless profile. Ultra-fine tannins, rock-solid concentration, and impeccable balance should keep this drinking beautifully over the coming two decades.
Just 2 ha owned by the Julien family . Cask sample. Very heady, intense, exotic nose. Then fresh and juicy on the palate. Definitely distinctive with no heaviness nor excessive oak. Lots of pace with a very 21st-century appetising finish. Racy but also exhibiting the ripeness – not necessarily sweetness – of the vintage. (JR)
This is thoroughly enjoyable, has teasted out an array of slate, crushed rock, rose petals, cassis, blackberry and liqourice. So much character and pleasure here, great stuff.
