Tasting notes
Aromas of raspberries and dark berry fruit complemented by hints of forest floor and woodsmoke introduce the 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Les Brouillards, a medium to full-bodied, charming and perfumed wine that's supple and ripely tannic. This, too, should show quite well young.

The 2018 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru was the first red vineyard picked. It has a pretty red cherry and raspberry bouquet that lacks the complexity of other Volnays. The two-thirds whole-cluster fruit is neatly assimilated on the palate. Finely balanced, with an elegant and nicely delineated finish. Enjoy over the next 10–12 years.

About the producer

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
