Score 94/100 · Drink 2024-2034, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Jun 2023

The 2019 Chardonnay Banfield Vineyard opens slowly on the nose to aromas of apricot, citrus blossom, meringue and cashews with touches of Meyer lemon. The light-bodied palate is seamless and flinty, with a tightly wound core of candied citrus and an appealing textural presence that anchors the latent finish. Offer it 2-3 years in bottle to unwind.

The 2019 Chardonnay Banfield Vineyard is pretty, with concentrated aromatics of lime, pear, and wet stone. The palate has more tension and fresh acidity, with a touch of astringency. There is more citrus toned on the palate, with lemon zest and saline minerality. Drink over the next 10-15 years.

The 2019 Chardonnay Banfield Vineyard is bright and beautifully lifted. The Banfield Vineyard is laced with pear, lime and white flowers. Airy and perfumed showing notable energy, the 2019 is exquisitely done. It’s a style that works very well here.
