The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru has quite a concentrated nose, displaying aromas of grilled walnuts and touches of dried honey and quince. This feels a bit "contained" at the moment, but it begins to open up after around 15 minutes in the glass. The palate is well balanced, with notes of Conference pear, melon and dried honey, and a little spiciness lending dimension to the finish. A relatively assertive Puligny through the close, this is a wine that I warm to the more I become acquainted with it. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
