Tasting notes
Spontaneous fermentation in both tronconic oak cask made by Garbellotto and stainless-steel tank. Aged for nine months in 50-hl casks. 12,600 bottles and 200 magnums produced. Just mid ruby. Gorgeous nose of cherry and burnt spices, iron and blood-orange skin. Concentrated, pure cherry fruit framed by bags of finely grained tannins. Long and focused. A fantastic debut. (WS)

Fragrant and pure, the Gorelli 2018 Rosso di Montalcino delivers unadulterated, variety-driven aromas of wild berry, crushed flowers and tilled earth. The bouquet is beautifully redolent of Sangiovese, presenting a clean, fresh and simple expression of the grape. This is a vivid and energetic red wine with a zippy and happy personality that would make for good company with a local wood-fired pizza. Production is 12,600 bottles and 200 magnums, but this wine will be impossible to find in North American stores since they have, as of this publication, no importer.
