Tasting notes
From the Treiso township, the 2013 Barbaresco Bernardot is a beautifully sophisticated wine that promises to evolve slowly over the next ten years or more. This expression offers great density and fullness with elegant aromatic accents that underline the versatility of Nebbiolo. Wild berry and dark fruit are backed by cola, licorice and grilled herb. Those aromas are fine and expansive. The mouthfeel is backed by firm tannins and long persistence.

Treiso. Mid ruby with orange tinges. A little oaky on the nose and quite sweet fruit on the palate. Modernist style. There is freshness too, but this can already be approached. Quite oaky but the fruit keeps up. (WS)
The 2013 Barbaresco Bernadot packs a serious punch. Sweet cherries, kirsch, spices and hard candy open up in a powerful, intense wine endowed with a real sense of vibrancy. The heft of Treiso comes through loud and clear in firm tightly-coiled Barbaresco that needs time to soften.
