The 2010 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru is very primal and backward on the nose, with plenty of extraction but not much in the way of finesse or terroir expression. The palate is a little reduced with chewy candied red fruit, grippy and, for want of a better word, "chunky" on the finish. I find this a bit hard going.

Powerful, dense, rather haunting nose. Very vibrant fruit. Real raciness here as well as juiciness. And Vosne energy. Dry but appetising finish. (JR)
