Score 94/100 · Drink 2020-2032, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2020
The 2016 Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Asinone includes slightly more Sangiovese and is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo and Merlot. Aged 16-18 months in French oak, it has a pure, classy bouquet of black raspberry and black cherry fruits interwoven with spice, vanilla bean, tar, and dried flowers. With medium to full body, beautiful elegance and purity, and light tannins, it's a beautiful Montepulciano that's going to evolve for over a decade.

A firm, silky red with dark-berry, chocolate and almond aromas and flavors, as well as dark chocolate. Full to medium body. Chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
