Tasting notes
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is raised in 25% new oak with 50% whole bunch. It has a well-defined bouquet of dark berry fruit, cola and touches of brown spice, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is well defined with a pleasant rondeur and quite weighty in the mouth. The structured, tobacco-tinged finish lingers temptingly. Great potential.

Cask sample. Ripe but not overly sweet. Dark fruit that is mostly damson and blackberry. Firm, fine tannins. A good village wine with restraint and length. (JH)
