Tasting notes
This is one of the wines that most shaped my Sicilian palate. The 2014 Etna Bianco Superiore Pietra Marina offers a rich and enduring bouquet of stone fruit, honey, toasted pistachio nuts and wild fennel. This wine is completely Sicilian in spirit and form. Of course, you will also recognize those characteristic volcanic notes of crushed mineral and salt. Fruit for Pietra Marina is sourced on the east side of Etna (in Milo) with vineyards planted at 800 meters above sea level.

100% Carricante. Cask sample. Partial MLF. Brilliant straw yellow. A nose that is a little waxy and with hints of green peach, cut lemon, and distinct stony, minerally notes. Bags of minerally lemon fruit on the palate. Transparent and balanced. Fine-textured finish and subtle. Scarce year. (WS)
