Tasting notes
Dusty black fruits, spice box, mentholated herbs and sage waft up from the 2010 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva. Vibrant and built on purity, this splashes across the palate with crisp red fruits underscored by saline minerals. A core of brilliant acidity adds a lively freshness. It's long and structured, just starting to soften yet not quite, finishing with mint and cedary spice.

This is the Etichetta Bianca, or white label indicating a Vino Nobile made of indigenous varieties only. Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Mammolo. Dark, youthful ruby. Very fine balsamic, minerally fruit, yet still closed and youthful. Beautiful structure and balance and very fine firm tannins. Only the merest hint of oak. Truly elegant. (WS)
