Tasting notes
Capanna's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino is one of the most unevolved 2008s I tasted. Still quite primary, the 2008 is all about fruit at this stage. Today, it is the wine's textural finesse and silkiness that stand out most. Sweet floral notes add an attractive sense of lift on the finish, but it will be another few years - at least - before the 2008 is ready to show all of its cards.

Deep ruby with orange tinges. A little reductive at first. Ripe fruit with a pinch of acidity and bitter tannic finish. Perhaps a little simple. (WS)
