Tasting notes
The 2018 Pinot Noir falls short of the quality of the previous couple of vintages; 2018 wasn't an easy vintage, but the wine is still a silky effort with plenty of appeal. Tendrils of green herbs reach among black cherries and earth on the nose. Yet while the wine is its typical generous, silky self, there are hints of astringency and fragility in the structure, culminating in a finish that comes up a bit short. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

Despite the clout of the name and the luxury goods company behind it, this is a rather ordinary offering lacking substance. Blame it on the warm, damp vintage. It's fresh and taut with some classy oak-derived spice and smoky flavors lingering on the medium-length finish.
