Tasting notes
A beautiful bouquet of peonies, wild berries, spices and forest floor prefaces the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Goujonne, a medium to full-bodied, layered and complete wine that's deep and elegantly muscular, framed by lively acids and powdery tannins. The best renditions of red Chassagne number among the finest values to be found in the contemporary Côte d'Or, and this cuvée definitely numbers among them.

The 2018 Chassagne Montrachet Goujonne Rouge had not been racked from barrel. Nevertheless, the red plum and strawberry fruit came through nicely on the nose, the fresh palate offering fine tannins and a lightly spiced finish. A decent red Chassagne, no more, no less.
