Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2004

Good medium red. Black cherry, violet and fresh herbs on the distinctly floral nose. Leanish but intense, with highly aromatic flavors of black fruits and spices. Finishes firmly tannic and perfumed, with impressive spicy persistence. Amiot's Clos Vougeot, from vines planted in 1945, has been especially impressive over the past few vintages.
