Bright, dark red. Tight nose hints at blackberry, black cherry, licorice and violet, along with a medicinal menthol reserve. Dense, sappy and imploded, with black fruit flavors currently dominated by rather muscular minerality. This very rich but distinctly rectilinear wine is less refined than Boillot's 2013s from Gevrey-Chambertin and its substantial building tannins will require patience.

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Pruliers has a fragrant, floral bouquet with wilted violets infusing the red berry fruit. There is good intensity here, quite lush at this early juncture. The palate is finely balance with a silky texture, smooth in the mouth with a cohesive, velvety finish that is very promising once this is bottled. In a word - seductive.
