Tasted blind.  Deep ruby. Slightly wild, briary fruit. Plump, with cherry skins and poached plums, with a hint of apricot at the core. Juicy, with fine tannins propping up the structure. Cedary finish. (TP)

The 2017 Amiral de Beychevelle has quite a perfumed bouquet with brambly red fruit laced with balsamic and light cedar aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a little chalky in texture but fresh and vibrant. All it really lacks is depth and grip, but as a second wine it serves its purpose without any frills.

The second wine for Beychevelle, the 2017 Château Beychevelle Amiral de Beychevelle is a medium-bodied, fresh, elegant red that has juicy red and black fruits, hints of tobacco and gravelly earth, no hard edges, and an already open knit, charming style.

About the producer

Château Beychevelle 1:1
Beychevelle

With greater care in the vineyard and more precision in the winery, Ch. Beychevelle's star is rising. That's in large part due to the leadership of Philippe Blanc and investment by current owners, Japanese brewers Suntory and French wine group Castel.
