Assorted darker fruits, iron, candied violets, and some meaty notes emerge from the 2019 Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac, a medium-bodied, nicely textured, yet borderline rustic wine. Drink this enjoyable, mouth-filling, classic 2019 over the coming 10-12 years.

The 2019 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, blackberries, pencil shavings and undergrowth. Medium to full-bodied, succulent and lively, with powdery tannins and a moderately concentrated core of fruit, it's a clean, competent effort from Dourthe.

The 2019 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac has a light woody nose that needs more fruit expression. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, a soft texture and a rather predictable finish. Early drinking.
