Tasting notes
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière comes from a plot of vines around 75 years old located directly behind the winery. There is a palpable difference between this and the Vosne Village, even though it was picked on the same day. This has a little more Pinoté and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a lovely silky texture. It’s a tad spicy with a vibrant, graphite-tinged and persistent finish. Excellent.

Cask sample. Sample is not the freshest on the nose. Could be a little denser than the straight village wine? (JR)
From vines planted in 1931, the 2021 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière has an ethereal bouquet with brambly red fruit and ground limestone scents - beautifully focused, yet understated. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins, extremely precise with beguiling tension on the finish. Like a Swiss watch…but it tastes better.
The benchmark bottling for this lieu-dit, from vines planted in 1931, the 2021 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière opens in the glass with notes of dark berries, licorice, sweet spices and baking chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's textural and lively, with powdery tannins and a long, saline finish. Disdain this 2021 at your own risk.
