Tasting notes
From vines near Vergy, the 2018 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge (Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat) opens in the glass with notes of sweet berry fruit, petals and creamy new oak. Medium-bodied, lively and enveloping, with youthfully chalky tannins cloaked in a generous core of fruit, this will repay a bit of bottle age.

The 2018 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge comes from purchased fruit. The bouquet features ripe, opulent blueberry and cassis aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and good acidity, perhaps just missing a little density on the finish. Fine.
