Very fresh and tangy with great purity and focus here. There is some wet-stone character to the waxed lemons, fresh ginger and honey. Intense, but really effortless and bright, with rather racy acidity. Some creamy nuttiness in the finish. Beautiful! Drink or hold.

First growth. Only 600 50-cl bottles produced. TA 9.9 g/l, RS 176.4 g/l. Smoky and spicy nose. Concentrated and almost reductive style that is complex – both honeyed and savoury. Lots of spice and lots of botrytis on the palate – marmalade and saffron with dried apricots and nutmeg. Rich and fleshy with generous fruit to the finish. The acid is high but not cutting or searing as can often be the case. Great balance – the sugar complements rather than dominates the wine. (TP)
