Tasting notes
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, the usual blend from La Perrière and Crapaillot, has a floral, elegant and effervescent bouquet bursting with Morello cherries, crushed strawberry and flinty scents. The palate is supple but with good body, quite harmonious with a fine bead of acidity, perhaps just pulling up a little short on the finish. Give this a couple of years just to fill out.

Offering up notes of cherries, sweet red berries, forest floor and truffles, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru is medium to full-bodied with an ample attack that segues into a taut mid-palate, framed by fine-grained tannins and concluding with a pure and attractively mineral finish. It's a blend of Craipillot and Perrières but Perrières always seems to dominate its personality.
