Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2023

From vines planted in 1973 on a very gentle slope with calcareous marls from the Oligocene period, the 2018 Riesling Clos Häuserer has coolish, refined and elegant as well as dense Riesling aromas intertwined with delicate earthy notes. Very elegant and quiet on the palate, this is a quite rich yet vivacious Riesling with fine tannin grip and structural acidity. The wine has an intense and texture finish with salts and tension and drinks perfectly well today but can also be aged for about two decades. Bottled in January 2020. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2023.
