Tasting notes
The 2016 Barbaresco Montaribaldi is generous and ample in the glass. Spice, leather, smoke, licorice and dried flowers are some of the many notes that develop in this gorgeous, enveloping Barbaresco. At this stage, the Montaribaldi is the most reticent of the Nada Barbarescos, but its pedigree and potential are both evident. Black cherry, tobacco, spice, leather and scorched earth, along with broad swaths of tannin, add gravitas to this powerful, virile Barbaresco.

The 2016 Barbaresco Montaribaldi is wonderfully fresh and nuanced, with striking aromatic lift to play off the red-toned fruit. An embryonic, potent Barbaresco, the Montaribaldi is another wine that is going to need quite a bit of time to come around. Even at this early stage, the Montaribaldi has a level of finesse in its tannins that is impossible to miss.
