The 2018 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet of honeysuckle and jasmine aromas, discreet but very alluring. The palate is crisp on the entry and then delivers a very appealing orange peel and spice-tinged midpalate that is the key to this wine. Very harmonious with well-judged acidity. This is a splendid Meursault-Blagny with considerable breeding. Excellent.

Score 16/20 · Drink 2019-2026, Tom Parker MW, jancisrobinson.com, Nov 2019

Vinified and aged for 15 months in oak barrels, this vineyard is typically early to ripen owing to its lower-lying terrain. Lively and bright, a good blend of candied citrus and buttery stone fruits. Soft and rounded on the palate, with a savoury edge to the peach and pear at the core. Equally oily and tangy, with good balance between ripeness and acidity. (TP)
