Good ruby-red. Blackberry, violet, minerals and graphite on the nose. Very full on the palate, with compelling sweetness and a slightly exotic character. Finishes with a note of roasted oak and a slight raisiny nuance. Less floral than it appeared to be a year ago from barrel. The Mugnerets began the harvest with this vineyard, picking on August 25, the last day before the very warm temperatures moderated.

Good bright ruby-red. Fresh aromas of cassis, violet, licorice and menthol. Juicy, floral and perfumed in the mouth, with sound acids giving the wine very good lift. Intriguing soil-inflected notes of stone, ginger and white pepper. Finishes with firm, building tannins. This is very good.

Cask sample. Very bright, dark crimson. Scented and lively. Very sweet and gentle. Intense, chewy fruit. Quite vibrant and long. Intense. Definitely 'masculine' when tasted straight after Mortet. Taut beginning, middle and finish. Really lively. (JR)
