Tasting notes
The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Bousselots emerges from the glass with beautifully delineated red fruit, anise, licorice and dried flowers. It is a radiant, expressive wine graced with notable delineation and tons of class. The Bousselots comes across as relatively approachable. Layers of exotic fruit on the finish capture the essence of the year. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. My tasting with Denis and Bertrand Chevillon was one of the highlights of my most recent trip to Burgundy. The domaine’s 2009s are flat-out beautiful. Readers will not want to miss these gems. Sweet and solid and easy and just a little stolid but utterly convincing. (JR)
Good medium red. Cherry liqueur, flowers, game, leather and a whiff of menthol on the full-blown nose. Juicy, sweet and nicely deep, with cherry liqueur and underbrush flavors carrying through on a long finish. The tannins are suave but firm.
