Tasting notes
The 2021 Saint-Aubin en Montceau 1er Cru has a delightful bouquet with quite expressive orchard fruit tinged with crushed stone. Fine delineation. The palate is smooth and slightly creamy in texture with hints of nectarine and wild peach, yet the acidity keeps it fresh with admirable precision on the finish. Worth seeking out. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Saint-Aubin en Montceau 1er Cru has the most mineralité and terroir expression amongst Colin's three single-vineyard bottlings from the appellation. Here, there is impressive delineation and focus. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry, taut and fresh; there's crisp acidity with a lemony "bite" on the finish. Delightful.
The 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Montceau has also turned out beautifully, delivering aromas of pear, crisp green apple, clear honey, mint and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless palate. Racy and incisive, it's a pure, elegant wine that will offer a broad drinking window.
