Bright yellow. Pungent, mineral-accented poached pear and peach nectar scents, along with suggestions of honey and dried flowers. Weighty yet energetic on the palate, offering gently sweet orchard and pit fruit flavors that are given spine by a core of juicy acidity. Rich yet nervy and sharply delineated, showing excellent finishing clarity, velvety texture and strong, mineral-driven tenacity.

White peach, lemon juice and some bruised apple character – there is oxidative influence here, but not as much as in their straight Hermitage. Much richer flavour overall – layered, open-knit, spicy. Impressive, and very gratifying to drink now. (RH)
