Tasting notes
Deep healthy crimson amost right out to the rim. Very savoury – is there some Cabernet here? Certainly quite intense and restrained. A most appealing package though somehow in the French style rather than 100 per cent Priorat. Good, neat, dry, refreshing tannins and good balance of acidity. Neat, compact, early maturing – not flashy. (JR)

A blend of equal parts Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a dollop of Syrah, this impressive offering is the creation of Professor Nadal, who teaches oenology at the University of Taragona. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by a sweet nose of crushed rocks intermixed with raspberries, blueberries, and mountain fruits. Full-bodied with an intensity and richness that build incrementally as well as subtly, this beautiful effort is already accessible, but it should hit its peak in 2-3 years, and last for 10-15+.
