Score 89/100 · Drink 1993-2001, Robert Parker, Apr 1993

Altare makes some of the most interesting Piedmontese wines from Nebbiolo and Barbera. Altare's 1990 La Villa, a blend of equal parts of Nebbiolo and Barbera, offers a big, smoky, toasty, fruity nose, sweet, ripe, medium to full-bodied flavors, excellent richness, and a soft, moderately long finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Importer: a Marc de Grazia Selection, Michael Skurnick Wines, Westbury, NY
