(this went through malolactic in used oak) Good deep red-ruby. Crushed blackberry and black cherry aromas are lifted by a violet topnote. Tactile, sappy and fresh, with a savory quality that should make this flexible at the dinner table. Finishes with impressive energy and sneaky persistence.

Zesty nose. Very full and velvety. With a slightly raw, tart note. Certainly not in balance yet! Uncomfortable tartness on the finish. (JR)
