Tasting notes
The 2021 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a powerful Charmes-like bouquet, leaning towards a richer style with more yellow fruit compared to Benjamin Leroux's own Genevrières. Yet it retains delineation. The palate is vibrant and quite intense with plenty going on in this Meursault, culminating in a spicy and energetic finish. Again, this exhibits fine sapidity and urges you back for another sip. Superb. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a much more convincing bouquet than the Charmes-Dessus - scents of yellow plum, Mirabelle, sea spray and grilled almond. The palate is well balanced with a tangy entry, nicely focused with Seville oranges and mango, the oak neatly integrated on the finish. This is very promising.
