A blend of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec, the 2022 Cuvée Prestige reveals aromas of smoke, dark wild berries, chocolate and oak. Medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated with generously extracted tannins, it's delicately oaky with an assertive tannic frame and a long, dry extracts-inflected finish. More austere and introverted than the classic bottling, it remains well-crafted. Give it time to digest its élevage.
Smoky black (and some red) fruits, leather, sandalwood, and savory herb notes all merge from the 2022 Château Barrabaque Cuvée Prestige, a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, enjoyable, satisfying 2022 that will keep for a solid decade if well stored.
Balanced, velvety yet dense. This vivid and well-structured red offers aromas of dark cherries, blueberries and mild spices following through to a medium body and fine, firm tannins. Seductive and driven with a persistent finish. Try after 2026.
