Gorgeous scents of red fruits, stones, sweet earth, and blackberries are found in the nose of the 2002 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes. Medium to full-bodied and deeply concentrated, this structured wine offers copious quantities of toast-tinged cherries in its ripe, lush personality. Projected maturity: 2005-2015. Importer: Neal Rosenthal Wine Merchant, New York, NY; tel. (800) 910-1990
Medium red. Complex nose combines cherry, raspberry, licorice, fresh herbs and a hint of prune; offers an intriguing combination of cool and warm notes. Supple and sappy, with urgent red berry flavors complicated by a torrefaction note of espresso on the firmly tannic, lingering finish. A rich wine that is beginning to tighten up.
Cask sample . Strong pink tinge. Sweet and juicy on the nose – boiled sweets? Delicate, lively, dynamic, and urgent on the palate. Very serious long-distance runner. (JR)
